#MySundayPhoto – Fan club
Yesterday was our annual day at the race.
You may remember that my brother Sylvain is an amateur rally driver. Every year he takes part in several local or regional races with his unmistakable Opel Manta 400 to the colours of the French flag. My parents are his designated pit crew. The rest of the family, his adoring fan club.
Yesterday, for the first time in his 20-odd years of rally driving, the entire fan club, i.e. the four acorns and their 7 cousins, was there to support him and cheer him on during the Rallye de la Fourme, held near the town of Ambert, Puy-de-Dôme.
This is the only one of Sylvain’s races that the acorns get to attend, and as ever, it was a memorable family day.
Hier était notre journée annuelle à la course.
Vous vous souvenez peut-être que mon frère Sylvain est pilote amateur de rallye. Chaque année, il participe à une petite dizaine de courses locales et régionales au volant de son Opel Manta 400 aux couleurs du drapeau français. Mes parents forment son équipe d’assistance, et le reste de la famille, son fan club dévoué.
Hier, pour la toute première fois en vingt ans de pilotage pour Sylvain, son fan club était au grand complet. Les quatre graines de chêne et leurs sept cousins étaient au bord des routes du Puy-de-Dôme pour le Rallye de la Fourme pour soutenir et encourager leur champion.
C’est le seul rallye de la saison auquel les graines de chêne assistent et, comme toujours, ce fut une journée en famille inoubliable.

So wonderful to be part of a big family like this and for the children to spend time together and what a venue. I bet they loved being part of it all and cheering on their uncle! I’m sure I remember one of your events last year, it looks all very exciting and such lovely photos of the kids together. I hope your brother has a good season in his rally car.
