#MySundayPhoto – Piñata
Yesterday it was Mermaid’s belated bouncy birthday party. As her actual birthday fell during our summer in France, and as she’d never celebrated it in Ireland with her friends, it was agreed that this year, exceptionally, she would have a second party.
A few days prior Mermaid had made, with Jedi’s help, a piñata. A pig head of a piñata, for Mermaid loves everything pig-related. Just don’t ask me why!
Hier a eu lieu le second anniversaire de Sirène. Non pas qu’elle ait pris une année de plus en seulement quelques semaines. Mais comme son anniversaire tombe pendant notre été en France, et comme elle ne l’avait jamais fêté en Irlande avec ses copines et copains, il fut décidé que cette année, exceptionnellement, elle le célèbrerait une seconde fois.
Quelques jours avant la fête, elle réalisa, avec l’aide de Jedi, une piñata. Une piñata en tête de cochon car Sirène s’est découvert une passion pour les cochons. Surtout ne me demandez pas pourquoi !

I love a handmade piñata – it can be whatever shape you want. The only problem with the last one we made (years ago) was it was too strong! We ended up with kids swinging so hard they fell over their own feet onto the grass. It was hilarious but got a bit monotonous so we had to have some adult intervention. 🙂
